After adding powder, the bottle should be gently shaken until the mixture is fully dissolved. Proper mixing ensures that nutrients are evenly distributed.
Temperature control is also important. Bottles should be warmed safely using bottle warmers or warm water baths. Microwave heating should be avoided because it can create uneven hot spots that may burn the baby’s mouth. After warming, the bottle should be tested on the wrist to ensure it is at a safe temperature.
Prepared formula should not be left at room temperature for long periods. Bacteria can grow quickly in warm milk, increasing the risk of infection. Any unused formula after feeding should usually be discarded to maintain safety.
